The Cruachan Visitor Centre is pleased to announce that 2010 has brought us a total of four awards. These are:
Since its inception in 1997 the Green Tourism Business Scheme has been championing sustainable tourism in the UK, and has become the largest and most successful scheme of its type in the world. It currently has over 1100 members, and aims to keep the UK at the forefront of sustainable tourism in the future.
VisitScotland, formerly known as the Scottish Tourist Board, works all year assessing standards for visitors.Using 1 to 5 Stars, Visitor Attractions are graded for the standard of customer care they provide for the visitor. The star awards focus on the standard of the welcome, hospitality and service, the attractions presentation as well as the standard of the toilets, shop and cafe, where provided.
Since its introduction in 1987, the annual Loo of the Year Awards competition has helped focus the spotlight on 'away from home' toilets throughout the UK. The Awards have a simple objective, namely, to encourage the highest possible standards in all types of 'away from home' or public toilets.
We have also won a National Category Award for having the best visitor attraction toilets in Scotland.
