Habitat

The country surrounding Cruachan is some of the most spectacular in the whole of Scotland.

From the clear waters of Loch Awe, with its many islands and ancient crannogs (lake dwellings), the ground rises through bog, forest, moor, pasture and heather to the high summit of Ben Cruachan.

This varied habitat supports a marvelous diversity of wildlife - including red and roe deer, foxes, badgers, otters, wildcats, red squirrels, pine martens, buzzards, golden eagles, pied fly catchers, golden eye and black throated divers, and butterflies.

Please email visit.cruachan@scottishpower.com if you would like a copy of our environmental policy.
